Arts Jokes

Membership
We apologise for missing the winter newsletter due to illness.

Of course, as you've probably already heard, the big news is our imminent acquisition of a new Arts Centre in Midland.

We need to know how you might want to use such a centre.
There is more information on our website at:
http://www.huroniaarts.ca/consultation
and a downloadable questionnaire at:
http://www.huroniaarts.ca/artscentre/questionnaire.pdf

Please fill it out and return it by the March 5th to
The Huronia Foundation for the Arts,
P.O. Box 307, Midland, ON L4R 4L1

Yes, it's short notice, but this is all happening very fast, and we need to know what our publics want before we can go ahead.

CLASSES, WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS

Classes in this newsletter are presented by HFA members. Other classes may be found on our website at: http://www.huroniaarts.ca/

If you are a teacher in the arts, please let us know about your classes. We'd be happy to post them in our newsletter and on our website.
Visual Arts
These days, there is a serious lack of arts training due to government funding cuts. The only alternative is for parents to pay for private lessons, and for many families this option is simply too expensive. In partnership with the HFA, Lisa Harpell has developed a series of workshops to address these problems and allow us to give back to our community.

Creative Madness
presents
Art Workshops for Everyone
The Penetanguishene Centennial Museum is the backdrop for exploring your creative side with artistic workshops for all ages.
Conducted by local artist Lisa Harpell, these workshops are designed to give you an unforgettable experience while helping connect with the creative child inside.

ARTS JOKES
A Stage Manager, a Sound Technician and a Lighting Designer find a bottle in a corner of the theatre.
One of them rubs it and a genie pops out.
"Since you all found me," he says "you each get one wish."
The Sound Technician steps up and says, "I'd like a million dollars and three beautiful women."
POOF! - The Sound Tech is gone.
The Lighting Designer steps up and says, "Well, if he can have that, I'd like TEN million dollars, and my own personal island with fifteen beautiful women!"
POOF! The Lighting Designer is gone.
The Stage Manager steps up and says, "I'd like them both back in ten minutes."

"Mommy! Mommy! When I grow up I want to be a guitar player!"
"Now Johnny, you can't do both!"

An artist decided to buy a new easel. He wasn't too sure what
type to get. At the art shop they offered him two, a big one and
a small one. He pondered for a while and finally decided on the
lesser of two easels.

MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION

You have asked and we have listened. The Membership Committee has been working hard, restructuring membership categories to better reflect the wishes of our current and potential members. There will be a family membership as well as a seniors category. We also expect to have an online membership application available soon. Stay tuned!

The Membership Committes is working on developing discount programmes with suppliers in the area. Board member Lu Robitaille is also offering a discount to members who wish to purchase her art. There will be substantial discounts for HFA members at HFA-sanctioned events and for some events, it may even be possible to recoup the entire cost of an HFA membership simply for attending. Cool!!
