Looking to connect to some local Plein Air artists. PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 06 September 2012 18:13

I will be staying in Midland/Port Severn for a few days Sept 30/Oct1,2,3 and was hoping to contact some local Plein Air artists.
I couldn't find a local group (other than the Ont. PA painters...)

Any upcoming paint outs, even an email contact that could reccommend good locations/trails from Midland to Honey Harbour, with access to Shoreline overlooks, waterfalls etc. I will have a vehicle.

Any help would be most appreciated and I would certainly return the favor for anyone visiting our area The Sunshine Coast in BC.

kind regards
Jan Poynter

King Street Became The King's Street at ArtWalk2012 PDF Print E-mail
News - General Arts

A0ClJLLCEAAOzQ8.jpg largeExcept for about 30 minutes of torrential rain yesterday (Saturday, August 11), ArtWalk2012 went off without a hitch.  How wonderful to walk down the street and hear the fabulous music coming from Johnstone's Music and then further down from Adrien Robitaille and Ralph Hooper.

Stories will be told for many years to come about ArtWalk2012 when the tidal wave hurdled its way down King Street at approximately 12:30pm, just in time to interrupt the line up at The Explorer's Cafe table.  I was in line for my 2nd helping of Rob and Jen Reader's culinary magic when the rain began.  In fact ArtWalk2012 may become a folk tale, about how vendors' plastic tote containers, boxes of books, children and little dogs were swept into the harbour. (Only a slight exaggeration! No children were harmed but a few dogs will have nervous twitches for years to come.)
