HFA Grants and Sponsorship
The HFA receives many requests for assistance from its members
and other individuals in the arts community.
We have recently set up a program for local artists and arts
groups whose projects provide an improvement to the local arts
scene. The program gives these groups and individuals
a chance to request funding and volunteer assistance for their
events. In return we would like an opportunity to promote
the HFA at your event so that we might reach a broader range
of prospective members. Working together, we can make
the arts a priority.

the Arts office at: (705) 527-3644 or e-mail info@huroniaarts.ca
This new section of the website will be updated
and improved as more information comes in. If you know of any
other funding opportunities for the arts, please let us know

Huronia Players Annual Theatre Arts Scholarship
The $200 Huronia Players Award is presented in memory of May
Barber, a long time and very active member of the Players.
It is awarded to one student from the five local high schools
(MSS, St. Theresa's, Le Caron, PSS and Elmvale) who has demonstrated
active involvement in performance while attending high school
and has registered to pursue a performance oriented course
through post-secondary education. Students may have been active
in dramatic presentations, in music presentations or backstage.
Over the course of the years since this award was created
at least one student from each of the schools has won the
award. Submissions are rquested from the various schools and
the executive of the Players decides who is the most worthy
recipient. The executive has the authority to award two scholarships
if two students are deemed equally worthy, and by the same
token to not award the scholarship at all if none of the students
are deemed worthy.
This year, for the first time ever, Huronia Players received
no submissions for this award.
