The Huronia Foundation for the Arts joins forces with the Midland BIA for the 2nd Annual ArtWalk street festival.

King Street in downtown Midland will be centre stage for ArtWalk 2010.  Saturday August 14th and Sunday August 15th will see a bigger and better festival, as the ArtWalk grows to become a two day event.  Last year an estimated two thousand people participated in ArtWalk. “This year we are expecting to surpass last year’s numbers” said Gord McKay, Chair, Huronia Foundation for the Arts.

ArtWalk gives the community a chance to enjoy the arts as well as some of Midland's most unique shops.  “Many of the downtown merchants will be out on the street with unique gifts and food for young and old” said Karianne Copeland, Chair Midland BIA. “This is a chance for everyone to come downtown and see Midland’s shopping district at its best.”

ArtWalk features a feast of local artists and crafts. Artists will be juried so the best in painting, metalwork and sculpture will be on display.  A full day musical event takes place on Saturday where visitors will be entertained by the likes of Marc Hanson, Old Habits and local favorites Claude et Lucie Charlebois. Special art activities for the family include children’s “street painting”, a public participation mural, buskers and art demonstrations.
